Parsons and Saddlers of Constituency #6 win in Constituency #7 Domino League

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, August 14, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — Defending champions, Parsons Domino Club of Constituency Number Six, and its sister team Saddlers Domino Club won their games on Tuesday August 13 as the first round of the 2019 Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition entered the fifth segment of play.

The defending champions were supposed to travel to Bernett Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village, to meet home team Guinness. The venue was however changed at the last minute and the encounter was at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project where the Parsons, the first team from outside Constituency Number Seven to claim the championship, won handsomely 13-6.

Saddlers Domino Club was at home in Shanty Bar, Saddlers Village, where they faced the visiting Small Corner Bar Domino Club. At the end of a very competitive game that was watched by a sizeable crowd, the home team carried the day by winning 13-11 to bring their wins in the first round to three, having already lost two.

Surprise team of the 24th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition, Phillips Domino Club, which was the only unbeaten team after two segments of play in the first round, on Tuesday August 13 lost to Giants for failing to turn up for the game that was scheduled to be played at the Lodge Community Centre. Giants Domino Club got a 13-0 win via walkover.

Unstoppable Domino Club squeezed a narrow 13-12 win against Molineux Domino Club at Cuban Bar in Lodge Project. The game was supposed to have been played at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux, but the venue had other activities taking place. In the other game played on Tuesday August 13, Unity Patriots travelled to Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village, and beat home team Sylvers 13-7.

Sixth segment of play in the first round of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition will be on Thursday August 15 at five venues. Giants will meet Small Corner Bar at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project; and Guinness will face Unstoppable at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion in Molineux.

Defending champions Parsons Domino Club will travel to Cuban Bar in Lodge Project where they will meet home team, Unity Patriots; Domino House in Mansion Village will host Christchurch Domino Club as they face Molineux Domino Club; while Phillips will travel to Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village, to face home team Sylvers.

In the meantime it has been announced that the disputed encounter between Phillips and Molineux, which at one time had been awarded to Phillips by default on account of Molineux not having honoured their meeting on Sunday August 4, will now be played at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion on Sunday August 18. It is hoped that the two teams will honour the fixture.
