NEW YORK, NY, September 6, 2019 – JLC PRODUCTIONS has partnered with MIST Harlem to host the CAFE – Caribbean American Fashion Exchange™ Reception at NYFW, the Caribbeans In Fashion Meet&Greet on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. at MIST Harlem – 46 West 116thStreet, Harlem.

Caribbeans In Fashion Meet&Greet is the definitive reception that recognizes and acknowledges the Caribbean presence in the fashion industry where featured attendees are formally introduced to those present. For Spring/Summer 2020, the focus will be on fashion designers and guests should expect to view the works of several including Milagros Batista (Dominican Republic), Glenroy March (Jamaica), and Steven Daniel and Mel Simon (Trinidad and Tobago), along with the introduction of two young designers from St. Kitts and Nevis – Mikaya Collins and Shafeyah Guishard.

The evening also serves as a fundraiser for the CAFE – Caribbean American Fashion Exchange™ Scholarship to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). The CAFE™ Scholarship is to be awarded to Caribbean students who live in the Caribbean, to attend the prestigious fashion industry institution and will be awarded to two students at a time. According to Janice Lawrence-Clarke, Creative Director at JLC PRoductions and Founder of the Caribbean American Fashion Exchange™, “The CAFE™ Scholarship will be awarded to two deserving students at a time so that together they could support each other as they enter the fashion industry, positioning their island countries in the Caribbean region and in the global market.
