Surprise results registered in fourth segment of Constituency #7 Domino League’s second round
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, October 4, 2019 (PLP PR Media Inc.) — Results coming in at the end of the fourth segment of play in the second round of the 24th edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition on Thursday October 3 suggest that it is still too early to predict a winner.
Unstoppable Domino Club, who at the end of the first round were only a point behind the defending champions Parsons Domino Club, returned winning two back-to-back games and overtook Parsons in point standings. However, their winning form appears to have been derailed as they hit the dust in the next two games, including the one on Thursday October 3.
Playing at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project in a very tight game that could have gone either way, Guinness Domino Club edged out Unstoppable Domino Club 13-11.
The loss by Unstoppable was warmly received in the Parsons Domino Club’s camp. The team from Constituency Number Six made history by being the first team from outside constituency Number Seven to win the championship title of this prestigious domino league, which is the longest running such league, and one that is sponsored by Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, who is also the Area Parliamentary Representative for Number Seven.
After a surprise loss to former Champions Unity Patriots in the first segment of play of the second round, the defending champions Parsons have found their winning form, winning three games including the one on Thursday October 3, where they dispatched Sylvers Domino Club 13-6 at Sylvers Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village.
Giants Domino Club have also found their winning form, and their latest casualty were the former champions Unity Patriots Domino Club, who they beat 13-11 in a game played at Cuban Bar in Lodge Village.
In the other two games of the evening, Saddlers Domino Club beat Christchurch 13-9 in a game played at Shanty Bar in Saddlers Village, while at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Complex pavilion Molineux Domino Club beat Small Corner Bar 13-10.
Fifth segment of play in the second round of the 24th edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League will be on Tuesday October 8 at three venues.
The Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project will host three games featuring defending champions Parsons vs. Giants; Small Corner Bar vs. Christchurch; and Guinness vs. Unity Patriots. Sylvers will be at home in Sylvers Bar in Hidden Alley facing Molineux, while Unstoppable will travel to Saddlers Village to meet Saddlers Domino Club at Shanty Bar.
