It was on this date, 26 years ago, that Dr Timothy Harris first became a member of parliament.

Two years later, July 1995, he went on to become a member of government.

He served 15 years in government.

In July, 1995, Dr Denzil Douglas, became the second Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis. His tenure came to an end in February 2015.

He served 20 years in government

Dr Timothy Harris is now our third Prime Minister. He served for 18 years as a government minister under Dr Douglas’s Administration and he now has almost 5 years as Prime Minister in the Team Unity Administration.

Therefore, Dr Timothy Harris, has spent more years in federal government than any other minister in the history of St.Kitts and Nevis and the only federal minister to have been in government for more than 20 years altogether since we became an Independent nation.
