NEW RECRUITS UNDERGO TRAINING IN PREPARATION FOR CARNIVAL

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 03, 2019 (RSCNPF): Twenty-nine (29) new recruits are currently undergoing general duty training at the Police Training School in preparation for Carnival 2019-2020.

Over the next two weeks, the recruits will be taught topics such as statement writing, local history, crowd control and internal security, among others. This will help to prepare them to execute their duties at the various carnival activities planned for the month of December and January.

At a brief ceremony on Monday, December 02, Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Operations, Adolph Adams, reminded the recruits of the seriousness of the job and encouraged them to maintain a high level of professionalism.

“There will be many responsibilities thrown at you where you will be responsible for the safety and security of our Federation and we expect you to do a professional job at all times. Get serious and be disciplined. When you are in the parade square, we don’t want to hear any complaints,” he said.

This year’s course consists of 29 recruits – 21 males and 8 females – with the majority hailing from St. Kitts and Nevis, and others from Grenada, Jamaica, Dominica and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The official start of Course 44 is slated for January.
