Headley bringing expertise to boost BHTA

THE Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) has appointed Gayle Headley as its Operations Marketing Manager.

Headley, who has over 15 years of experience in the tourism industry, will assist with the general office and facilities management of the association, oversee the marketing programmes and ICT framework, inclusive of website and social media platforms, and plan, manage and execute BHTA events.

Chief Executive Officer of the BHTA, Senator Rudy Grant, in welcoming Headley to the association stated: “We are pleased to have Gayle on board with us. Her extensive experience in the industry will be a major benefit to the BHTA and we are confident that she will prove to be an invaluable asset to our membership.”

The National Development Scholar previously held the position of Executive Director of the Intimate Hotels of Barbados where she spearheaded various marketing projects including Staycation campaigns, mall promotions and the installation of membership seals and plaques.

Prior to the hospitality industry, the mother of two sons, worked in event planning and also taught in the local public sector. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Tourism Management & Marketing, a Cambridge Certificate in Event Planning and a BIMAP certificate in Human Resource Management.

Headley is the present Secretary of the Rotary Club of Barbados South and is also a member of the Barbados Rifle Association. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Small Business Association as a Deputy Chairman and as a Director.

An avid member of the Beulah Methodist Church, a congregational steward and a member of the Methodist Women’s Prison Ministry, Headley has also served as Chief Judge in the Ministry of Tourism’s Annual Speech Competition and a Judge in the FCCA Children’s Essay Competition. (PR)
