Thirty-four (34) TriMedika Non-Contact Medical Grade Thermometers and one HIK Vision Temperature Screening Thermographic handheld Camera were donated to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis from Innotech Services Limited that will be utilized in the fight against COVID-19 at ports of entry.
The medical equipment, worth over $50,000, were donated by Chairman of Innotech Services Limited, Anthony De Silva during a recent ceremony at the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport. Present to accept the donations were the Minister of Tourism, Transport & Ports, the Honourable Lindsay Grant and the Chairman of SCASPA, Damion Hobson.
“The Innotech Group has a vested interest in the well-being of St. Kitts and Nevis and it is because of this commitment that we have donated and we are here today to donate over $50,000 worth of medical equipment that represents the latest technology in detecting temperature levels of incoming passengers starting on the 31st of October when commercial air travel resumes,” said Mr. De Silva. “That is why we have come to demonstrate our firm commitment to offer whatever assistance that is deemed appropriate and feasible.”
Mr. De Silva said that his company will continue to assist St. Kitts and Nevis in whatever way possible as Innotech is committed to aid in the efforts of the country and its fight against COVID-19. He noted that during the period of April to August 2020, Innotech donated EC $150,000 in food to vulnerable groups across the Federation.
He indicated that the aim now is to assist the Federation to prepare for the reopening of the borders.
“For now, our interest is to play a role in getting St. Kitts and Nevis ready to welcome thousands of visitors and returning nationals at the end of this month. Minister Grant, I want to assure you that Innotech Services Limited is ready to join your efforts by providing the requisite medical equipment to help minimize the risk associated with reopening the borders,” he said.
The temperature screening camera comes equipped with several features. It can detect elevated skin surface temperatures and it can be used for rapid and preliminary screening in commercial and industrial spaces with an accuracy of up to plus or minus 0.3 degrees Celsius (±0.3°C). The device, which can be used unmanned, gives audio and visual alerts and can be monitored via WiFi and Bluetooth. It captures the photo of every passenger and obtains temperature from a safe distance.
Important to note, there is no contact with persons and it will detect the skin temperature of the person in one second. The thermometers are easy-to-use and offer connectivity and rapid transfer of passenger and patient results to an Electronic Medical record in a range of environments.
Innotech is a privately owned construction company out of Barbados which has been in operation in the Caribbean region since 1992, while Innotech Services (St. Kitts) Ltd was incorporated in 2002. It operates in Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Grenada.
