Going by semi-final results returned Thursday evening October 8, domino enthusiasts will have to wait slightly longer before they get to know who will be crowned champions of the 25th edition of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League.

Former champions Unity Domino Club and this year’s points standing preliminary stage leaders Phillips Domino Club showed their opponents that they still have what it takes to win the coveted championship title of the longest running domino league in the country.

The league is sponsored by Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, and Area Parliamentary Representative for Constituency Number Seven, Dr the Hon Timothy Harris.

Unity who lost to their arch-rival and former champions Lodge Domino Club in the first of a best of three semi-final encounter, turned the tables on Lodge in one of the most competitive and entertaining domino encounters witnessed recently. They beat Lodge 13-12 in their second semi-final encounter held at the Lodge Community Centre where among those watching the classic clash was sponsor of the league, Prime Minister Harris.

Across in Molineux at the pavilion in the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex, playing without their captain Allington ‘Leggy’ Berridge in the first half of the game, Phillips Domino Club who had lost to Tabernacle Domino Club in their first semi-final encounter led from the onset and overpowered their opponents 14-11.

It was not exactly the best time for a team to lose. Tabernacle could not believe that watched by their fellow villager and sponsor of the league, Prime Minister of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis Dr the Hon Timothy Harris, could lose to a team that they had beaten in the first of the semi-final encounters.

The wins by Unity and Phillips have triggered a third and final game in the best of three semi-final encounters. According to President of Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League Executive Committee and League Coordinator, Calvin Farrell, the deciding semi-final encounters will be held on Sunday October 11 at the two venues starting at 4:00 pm.

In the meantime, no date has been set to accommodate the replay of the semi-final game in the Best of the Rest competition between Unstoppable Domino Club and Small Corner Bar Domino Club which was held on Wednesday October 7 at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux and whose results were nullified.
