Flash flood watch remains in effect for St. Kitts & Nevis until 8am Wednesday.
Due to the persistent rain that is forecast along with some moderate to heavy showers possible, conditions would be conducive for flash flooding. Residents are advised to exercise extreme caution in areas that are known for street flooding and rock fall such as the Old Road Bay area; also areas that are known for flash flooding including the ghauts.
Winds: Southeast at 9 to 18mph with possible gust to 30 mph mainly in showers.
Seas: 1.2 to 1.8 meters or 4 to 6 feet. Small craft operators should exercise caution mainly for reduced visibilities in heavier showers.
Weather Forecast for St. Kitts & Nevis: Weather today: Cloudy to overcast with occasional showers some of which will be moderate to heavy this afternoon. There is also a moderate chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
Weather tonight: Cloudy to overcast with a continuous rain mixed with heavier showers.
Eastern Caribbean Forecast: An area of disturbed weather aided by a moist environment, warm southeasterly flow and critical upper, will create an environment that supports moderate to heavy precipitation over the Leeward Islands westward to Puerto Rico today and tonight. For this reason, a Flash Flood watch is in effect for the Leewards Island and British Virgin Islands. Residents of these islands are advised that the Watch could be upgraded to an Advisory or Warning at short notice. Partly Cloudy to cloudy skies with brief showers are possible over the northern Windward Islands. Meanwhile a ridge along with dried atmosphere will cause skies to be generally partly cloudy with little shower activity over the southern Windward Islands southward to Trinidad and Tobago today and tonight.
