BREAKING: Shipment of 19 Illegal Guns Seized by Police At Wharf In Montego Bay

Nationwide News understands that a high-level investigation is underway following the seizure of a shipment of 19 illegal guns in Montego Bay, St. James last night.

The guns were seized by the Police at the Montego Bay Freeport wharf in the parish.

Six high powered guns are among those seized.

470 rounds of ammunition was also confiscated by the Police at the Wharf.

The seizure took place during an approximately 4-hour long operation.

Detectives from the Police Criminal Investigation Division, CIB are investigating.

It’s not immediately clear whether anyone has been taken into custody in connection with the gun find.

Yesterday, the Police disclosed that during the first week-and-a half of 2021 they’ve seized 20 illegal firearms.

The major gun find last night means that during the first 11 days of the new year – the JCF has seized 39 illegal guns.

A statement just in from the JCF has confirmed the seizure of a shipment of 19 illegal guns in St. James. The JCF says a multi-agency probe is underway to find the people responsible for the shipment.
