PM Harris is a man with a huge responsibility, says Unique Touch Christian Centre Pastor

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, April 19, 2021 (MMS-SKN) — A pastor at the Sandy Point-based Unique Touch Christian Centre acknowledged the Prime Minister of the Federation of St. Christopher and Nevis is a man with a huge responsibility who follows God, and led the church in offering prayers for God to walk with him as he leads the country.

“I want to give God thanks for the Prime Minister,” said Pastor Kaywana Saunders as she led the congregation in prayer for Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris who was worshipping at the church on Sunday April 18. “In this church we are taught about who we are following, and one of the things the Prime Minister made mention of repeatedly is following God. That speaks a lot to who God is in his life.”

Prime Minister Harris, who was accompanied by members of the Peoples Labour Party for the Sunday worship, had earlier been accorded the opportunity to greet the congregation, and in his remarks he had expressed his delight at being in the church where he noted its Vision Statement ‘Exalting the Saviour, Evangelising to the sinner, Equipping the Saints’, and said he hoped that that mission is being realised every day.

In requesting the congregation to stand while they prayed for Prime Minister Harris, Pastor Kaywana Saunders reminded that “Sometimes we forget that he is just a man with a huge responsibility and we are pastors ourselves and we understand the burden. We understand how it feels not to sleep, not to eat – to be under stress, and so for this moment I want you to shout seven times in the atmosphere, ‘Bless him Lord’.”

She observed that God, in His word, says that in all the ways people must acknowledge Him and that He would direct their path. In praying for further direction that morning, she noted that the Prime Minister had acknowledged God.

As the church brought the Prime Minister before God, the Pastor observed that God’s word says that He chooses the steps of a righteous man, guards the course of the man, and she decreed and prayed that the Prime Minister will, in Jesus’ name, not miss his step.

“We pray for ministering angels to minister to our Prime Minister,” continued the Pastor. “We pray oh God when his strength fail him, that he will lift up his eyes unto the hills from whence cometh his help. He will understand oh God that his help cometh from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.”

Noting that Christ is at the helm in St. Christopher and Nevis, she prayed that anything to do with the country the Prime Minister would fall on his face in sack cloths and ashes, and he would lead God’s people, and would not to be a Prime Minister that waits for a disaster to call on God, “but Father as he is set in time now, to seek you on a Sunday, make a way for him – make a way of escape for him.  God we shut down every negative word over his name, over his assignment, over his purpose this morning – we render it null, void and ineffective.”

The Pastor prayed that every word said against the Prime Minister would fail that it be cancelled in the name of Jesus, and she decreed and declared over him that he will accomplish his purpose and that he will be a Prime Minister who will make a difference in the country.

She fervently beseeched the Holy Spirit to move upon the Prime Minister and added: “When he rules this country, rule with him; when he sits in Cabinet, sit with him; when he eats, eat with him; when he talks, talk with him; when he makes decisions, make decisions with him. Holy Spirit move upon him. As he tries, oh God, to sustain this economy, sustain him because God he cannot take us where he has never been, but if you sustain him and you balance him, then we will have a balanced Nation.”

Reading from the scriptures was done by Brother Leroy Benjamin Jr. and the sermon, under the theme ‘Cast your burden’, was delivered by Senior Pastor Clive Saunders who also took time to thank and welcome the Prime Minister and his entourage to the Unique Touch Christian Centre.
