The fire department is currently investigating the cause of a house fire at Basseterre Westbourne Ghaut early Tuesday morning.
Fire officers from the St. Kitts Fire and Rescue services responded to a report of a blaze just after 4:00 am where they met a wooden residential structure near the car wash engulfed in flames.
It took the officers about an hour to completely extinguish the fire and in the process managed to keep the blaze from spreading to nearby homes.
According to reports, there was no one in the structure at the time.
Investigations are ongoing.
