To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Christena Disaster last year my government announced a new initiative to teach our youth how to swim. I was happy yesterday to attend the closing ceremony of the Christena Camp which this year reached over 100 people on Nevis ranging from ages 5 and up.
Huge thanks to Hon Eric Evelyn and his team at Youth and Sports and to Winston Crooke, Terri Andrews and to professional swimming instructor Ann McLindon. Huge thanks also to the volunteers who made this event such a spectacular success.
