The three individuals who were arrested for demonstrating were granted bail just moments ago at $15,000 each.
The charges laid against them, according to the Director of Public Prosecution, are a result of incidences that occurred on August 2nd and August 20th. However, the DPP disclosed his intent to withdraw the charges for August 2nd at the appropriate time as there is not sufficient evidence to proceed.
The charges range from — Taking part in a public procession without permission from the police, Breach of the peace, Willful obstruction, Obstructing a police officer, Resisting arrest, and Malicious damage.
The three were met on the outside by their family members, and supporters, including SKNLP Deputy Leader Marcella Liburd and Senator Hon. Dr. Joyelle Clarke.
The arrests of these three individuals have caused an uproar in the community, as persons have added even more fire and vigor in chastising the Timothy Harris-led government and its treatments towards citizens and residents.
