FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTER OF ROMANIA CONGRATULATES ST. KITTS AND NEVIS ON 38 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE

Basseterre, St. Kitts, September 17, 2021 (SKNIS): Congratulations continue to pour in for St. Kitts and Nevis as it celebrates 38 years of Independence. St. Kitts and Nevis attained its Independence on September 19, 1983.

One such message came from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Bogdan Lucian Aurescu who wrote: “On the occasion of National Day of St. Kitts and Nevis, it is my pleasure to convey to you sincere congratulations, as well as my best wishes of prosperity and well-being.”

Foreign Minister Aurescu highlighted his country’s long-standing links with the Caribbean Region including the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

“I take this opportunity to reiterate Romania’s long-term commitment towards the Caribbean and to express satisfaction for the promising prospects of our relations, built upon an agenda of intense political contacts in recent years, which I endeavour to maintain,” he said. “I further express my trust that our countries will successfully overcome the consequences of the current global crisis through increased cooperation and solidarity at bilateral international levels.”

St. Kitts and Nevis and Romania established diplomatic relations on June 25, 2009.
