Sport Minister conveys condolences to the family of Anthony Johnson

Basseterre, St. Kitts. October 4, 2021. Minister of Education, Youth, Sport and Culture Hon.
Jonel Powell, has expressed condolences to the family of the late Anthony Johnson and the
football fraternity, on behalf of both himself and his ministries.

“It is a great loss to the Federation. Johnson was an accomplished Attorney and Sport
Administrator, who played a significant role in placing St. Kitts and Nevis football in an enviable
position regionally and internationally. His passing is not only a huge blow to regional sports but
also to the Caribbean’s professional circle,” Minister Powell intimated.

Johnson was a prominent member of the Legal Fraternity and the immediate past president of the
St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA). During his tenure as president (2009 to 2021)
he worked in concert with the Ministry of Sport to ensure the growth of local players and the
continued development of the sport.

The Ministry will ensure that Johnson’s legacy is built on for posterity and longevity.

May he rest in eternal peace!
