NEMA REBRANDS WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS TO AMPLIFY REACH OF ITS PUBLIC MESSAGING

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 07, 2021 (SKNIS):The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is preparing to launch its newly rebranded social media accounts and website to enhance the effectiveness of its public awareness and alert systems.

NEMA’s Public Relations Officer, Michelle Rodrigues, said that the agency embarked on a new digital platform initiative six weeks ago. The effort was supported by Dr. Ricardo Neil and four students from the Division of Technical Vocational Education & Management Studies (TVEMS) at the C. F. Bryant College.

“With regards to our website, the residents will be seeing a more interactive website,” Ms. Rodrigues said on Wednesday’s (October 06) edition of the radio and television programme Working for You. “Also, the dissemination of our information, we’re using more interactive tiles that can engage and reach [more] of our residents.”

In addition to the new look nema.kn, changes will also be made to NEMA’s Facebook Page, Twitter account and YouTube Channel.
Ms. Rodrigues commended the CFBC students Naeem Richardson, Jahvid Allen, Anthony Jeetlall and Clirique Ward for their exceptional work.

“These young men have truly done an incredible job transforming the agency’s platforms over their six weeks with us,” she stated. “To their parents, family, lecturers, community, and friends, you have done a superb job with each of these young men, and they … will definitely be transforming our digital world.”

The new-look social media accounts and website are expected to come online by the end of this week.
