Message: Meguel Thomas Principal Verchilds High School
Good night parents and guardians.
I trust that everyone is well and is grateful to be on the land of the living.
I take the time to report to you that the grades that were returned from the sitting of the 2021 CSEC and CCSLC regional exams for the Verchilds High School were generally good. Our teachers, children and parents were resilient and came up with strategies to navigate this difficult period. Some of the highlights are as follow:
1- ALL of our students who came from form 4 were registered for all of their subjects in form 5 at the CSEC level.
2- Twenty (20) of the twenty-six (26) subject areas registered more than 89% of the students returning acceptable grades at CSEC.
3- Five (5) students captured more than seven (7) grade ones in the CSEC exams.
4- Ten (10) students passed ten (10) or more subjects at the CSEC level.
5- Our students who came through the Learning Support System passed subjects at the CSEC and CCSLC levels.
6- More than 95% of our students returned passes in CCSLC English, Mathematics and Social Studies with two (2) of the three (3) subjects returning 100% passes. Note too that many of our students achieved mastery.
I must highlight though that there were some disciplines that did not meet our expectations. Nonetheless, I cannot undermine the hard work of the BEST TEACHERS IN THE WORLD WHO TEACH AT THE VERCHILDS HIGH SCHOOL. Equally, I would like to thank the parents and students for their dedication and hard work.
At this juncture, allow me to use this platform to remind all of our stakeholders that education is still a viable option and encourage us to keep excelling while being disciplined.
