On behalf of Taiwan’s government, Amb. Lin donated a special fund on Nov. 2 to the SKN Health Minister Hon. Akilah Byron-Nisbett for the procurement of additional medical equipment and supplies, so as to strengthen the Federation’s COVID-19 response capabilities, including the surge capacity of the field hospitals.

This timely and significant donation is a reasonable use of the balance of the funds Taiwan previously pledged to assist SKN in procuring vaccines. A part of the said funds was already used in the acquisition of vaccines earlier this year and 2 Pfizer vaccine refrigerators recently.

Since the pandemic outbreak last year, Taiwan has been contributing to the Federation’s COVID-19 preparedness, including sharing its expertise in pandemic management and providing essential materials such as sufficient masks, PPEs, antigen test kits, 4 ventilators and 20 oxygen concentrators.

The donation yesterday was the latest sign of the two countries’ strong and close bilateral cooperation against the virus, laying a strong base for the revitalisation of the crucial tourism sector in the Federation. Taiwan’s🇹🇼 ongoing support for St. Kitts and Nevis🇰🇳 in COVID19 response & resilience as well as other domains shows that #TaiwanCanHelp build better & healthier tomorrows for all.⚕️
