2022 BUDGET DEBATE CONTINUES TOMORROW, MONDAY, DECEMBER 20 IN THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, December 19, 2021 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – The debate on the 2022 National Budget will resume tomorrow, Monday, December 20, 2021 in the National Assembly. 

The Budget debate commenced after Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris presented The Appropriation (2022) Bill, 2021 of approximately EC$952.2 million on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. 

Throughout the debate so far, Parliamentarians on the Government benches have shown how next year’s budget will help put St. Kitts and Nevis back on a path of economic growth. 

Budget presentations are expected from three Members of Parliament during Monday’s sitting before Prime Minister Harris, the mover of the Bill, wraps up the debate.

The 2022 Budget was presented under the theme, “Investing in our People: Putting St. Kitts and Nevis Back on Track.”
