It was a glorious day when Senior Youth Officer, Mrs. Sahira Joseph, gave fifth former Glorie Liburd a rewarding opportunity. Mrs. Joseph, first met Glorie during the Women Mentoring Girls Workshop that was held at the Saddlers Secondary School. Joseph, was one of the mentors and Glorie, a mentee. According to Joseph, Glorie shared her dream of experiencing welding which she had no prior experience.”

So I reached out to Sheldon of Bunion’s Welding Services in Verchilds and he said I can bring her,” said Joseph. “He was impressed with her skills and kept saying she is a fast learner. He taught her how to make a mini burglar bar and said that he looked forward to working with her again soon.” Joseph revealed that she is hoping to facilitate her next experience soon which is at the Air Traffic Control Office due to her love for Geography.” The overall goal is to assist her by offering real life exposure so that she can step boldly into whichever path she chooses.” To build that comfort and confidence is vital. It makes going off to study so much more rewarding knowing fully well what your passion is and I wish to do this for a lot more of our youth,” said Joseph.
