Lawyer Announced as PEOPLE’S ACTION MOVEMENT (PAM) Candidate for Constituency 8
BASSETERRE, ST KITTS (May 18, 2022) – At a Press Conference held earlier today at Swing Restaurant and Bar, the People’s Action Movement announced Mr. Chesley Hamilton as their new candidate for Constituency 8, in the upcoming General Elections, expected to be called within the next 80 days.
Hamilton, a deeply rooted son of Green Valley, born and bred at Dunn’s Cottage, Cayon, held his first job as a Police Constable in the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force before migrating to Canada, where he studied and gained Degrees in several fields, including Political Science and Law. Hamilton is a well-known Barrister at Law and Notary Public, licensed to provide legal advice and services by the Law Society of Upper Canada in the Province of Ontario, as well as the Bar of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court.
Hamilton comes with a wealth of leadership experience not only in the legal field, but also in other industries across government and private life. His proudest achievement, in his own words, is that he has always been grounded in his community and has never forgotten his roots.
According to Hamilton, he has now taken this bold step because he is determined to return PAM to government and to bring back integrity of service to the people of his community and the Federation, in general.
Speaking at the Press Conference, Hamilton stated that he is a believer in law, order and good governance, and a firm supporter of “Peace”. He is ready to roll up his sleeves and push a social development agenda designed to empower, and uplift the people of Constituency 8.
In announcing Hamilton’s candidacy and welcoming him to the fold, Political Leader, Shawn Richards, who was also present at the Press Conference, stated that “In Chesley, we have a fighter, a man dedicated to service, and a man whose loyalty is unquestioned.
“Richards is assured that Hamilton’s work among people, especially in the last 20 years, as a lawyer is well known. His passion for this country and the well-being of its people is beyond reproach, and that the Party can expect success from him.
“I have no doubt that PAM can expect great things from him – that the residents of Cayon can expect great things from him, and that St Kitts and Nevis can expect great things from him. We are excited to have him on board as we continue our journey of safeguarding our gains through REAL Unity.”
