ST. KITTS AND NEVIS CONTINUES TO RECEIVE MESSAGES AND WORDS OF CONGRATULATIONS ON 39 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, September 21, 2022 (SKNIS) – Days after the official observation of its 39th anniversary of Independence, the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis continues to receive messages and words of commendation from allied nations and international organizations.
President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Her Excellency Paula-Mae Weekes O.R.T.T., expressed her congratulations to St. Kitts and Nevis in a message addressed to His Excellency the Governor General, Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton.
President Weekes wrote, “Your Excellency, on behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and on my own behalf, I am pleased to extend to you and to the Government and people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, greetings and congratulations on the occasion of your country’s National Day. Please accept, Your Excellency, every good wish for your personal well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.”
The Secretariat of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), in a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas, also congratulated the Federation.
Secretary General of the ACS, His Excellency Rodolfo Sabonge stated, “I wish to express my best wishes for the maintenance of peace and prosperity for the People of Saint Kitts and Nevis. It is with great pleasure that I take this opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the work of the Association as a Member State. I sincerely hope that we will continue to work together to achieve common development goals and overcome the shared challenges that our Region confronts.”
Meanwhile, the King of Sweden His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf expressed, “On the occasion of the National Day of the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, I wish to convey to Your Excellency my sincere congratulations and my best wishes for your health and happiness and for the prosperity of the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis.”
