UNITED STATES OF AMERICA JOINS LIST OF COUNTRIES TO EXTEND BEST WISHES TO ST. KITTS AND NEVIS ON ITS 39TH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, September 21, 2022 (SKNIS) – The United States of America is the most recent country to extend best wishes to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis on its attainment of 39 years of Independence, officially observed on September 19, 2022.

In a letter to His Excellency the Governor General, Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton, President of the United States of America Joseph Biden congratulated the people of St. Kitts and Nevis “as you celebrate the 39th anniversary of your country’s independence.”

President Biden cited the close relationship shared between the Governments and people of the United States and the twin-island Federation “based on our respect for democratic values, commitment to regional security, and efforts to promote shared prosperity.”

The United States President continued, “The people of Saint Kitts and Nevis have shown immense resilience over the past few years in the face of truly difficult times and circumstances. We will continue to work with you on initiatives to combat the climate crisis, strengthen our economic partnership, recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, and tackle security threats in the Caribbean.”
