PRIMARY SCHOOLS PARTICIPATE IN THE PRELIMINARY ROUND OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS QUIZ

Basseterre: St. Kitts, Thursday, January 26, 2023:​ Students from 17 primary schools in St.
Kitts participated in the preliminary round of the annual Department of Consumer Affairs Quiz
on Wednesday, January 25 at the Ottley’s Community Center.


Mr. Paul Queeley, Director at the Department of Consumer Affairs, explained the rationale for
hosting the event.


“The purpose of the Consumer Affairs Primary School Quiz Competition is to bring awareness
to consumers at an early age about their rights and responsibilities as consumers; how to conduct
themselves in the market place and how they can obtain redress from the Consumer affairs
Department if the instance arises.”


The schools were arranged into four zones. The winner of each zone will advance to the finals on
Wednesday March 15 as part of the department’s week of activities noted Director Queeley.


The winners of each zone are Zone 1 George Moody Stewart Primary School; Zone 2 Irish Town
Primary School; Zone 3 Beach Allen Primary School and Zone 4 Saddlers Primary School.
