SOUTHSTARS LEAPFROG MANTAB TO TOP DIVISION ONE TABLE
Trafalgar Southstars have shot up the top of the 2023 SKNFA Division 1 table after they
drubbed 607 Construction Lodge Patriots 5-0 on Thursday in Cayon. Southstars have only lost
one game so far this season and have leapfrogged Mantab FC, the only team in St. Kitts Nevis
football yet to lose a match. They lead Mantab by a point—30 to 29 points.

Captain of Hardtimes Jarron Hamilton said the team played better in the second half. “First half
was a bit frustrating. In the second half, we came out with a different game plan. We were able to
get three goals. That’s another win. So, we are undefeated in maybe eight games right now. So,
we are trying to keep the momentum to go on until straight to the second round to see if we can
make it to the top,” Hamilton said. He said an all-around team effort is helping Hardtimes get
good results in recent times.

Meanwhile, Derrick Mills, a player with Rivers, said the player shortage continues to plague
Rivers, despite getting new players in the second transfer window. “We’ve been playing most of
the time with 11 men or less than 11. Sometimes it’s a struggle to get players to come out and
play. We just have to regroup and come again next season,” he said.  “We have a few new
players but we have been struggling a bit in terms of players getting injured… because we have
been playing with a steady 11 or steady 10 players most of the time and some of the players have
been playing injured. That is what has been hampering us throughout the whole season,” he said.
That win has shot Hardtimes to 5 th in the table.
