NATIONAL ACCREDITATION BOARD HOSTS WEEK OF ACTIVITIES


Basseterre: St. Kitts, Monday, June 05, 2023:​ Minister of Education Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley declared the St. Christopher and Nevis Accreditation Board week of activities open on Sunday June 04. The week of activities will be celebrated under the theme Accreditation: Supporting the Future of Global Trade starting Sunday June 04 and culminating Friday June 09.

Calling to attention the functions of the national Accreditation Board, Minister Hanley expressed “The St. Christopher and Nevis Accreditation Board and Secretariat share the responsibility of developing, promoting and maintaining standards of excellence for the Post secondary and tertiary education sectors. The Accreditation Secretariat readily provides support to the General public as it relates to accredited institutions, evaluation of qualifications, certification and verification of qualification documents. The Accreditation Secretariat is responsible for mapping both traditional academic and TVET qualifications onto the St. Kitts and Nevis National Qualification Framework. This information helps to inform employers of the skill sets, knowledge, and competencies that could be expected of someone with a particular qualification.”

Providing a brief synopsis of the week of activities the honourable minister disclosed “The Week of Activities will be held from Sunday June 04 to Friday 09, commencing with a church service at Rivers of Living Water Christian Centre. Mrs. Trisha Francis, Executive Director and Ms. Amerrell Langley, Quality Assurance Officer, will be hosted on Good Morning SKN on Wednesday, June 7th to provide the public with additional information about the roles and functions of the Accreditation Secretariat. Additionally, a series of Sensitization sessions will be carried out for private and public sector stakeholders.” The St. Christopher and Nevis Accreditation Board have been serving the Federation for the past 23 years.
