Saint Kitts and Nevis’ Embassy in Taiwan launches SKNLOVE

Taipei, Republic of China (Taiwan), June 02, 2023 (Embassy of Saint Christopher and Nevis) The Embassy of Saint Christopher (Saint Kitts) and Nevis in the Republic of China (Taiwan) launched its ‘Sharing Kindness and Nurturing LOVE – SKNLOVE’ outreach program earlier this month.

During his remarks at the launching ceremony, His Excellency Ambassador Donya L. Francis explained that this year the Federation of St.  Christopher (Saint Kitts) and Nevis will reach two significant milestones, 40 years of Independence on September 19th and 40 years of diplomatic partnership with the Republic of China (Taiwan) a few weeks later.

“Therefore, to highlight our achievements over the years and to further strengthen our friendship and show our solidarity with Taiwan, the Embassy of Saint Christopher (Saint Kitts) and Nevis in the Republic of China (Taiwan) is excited to launch its project, ‘Sharing Kindness and Nurturing Love – SKNLOVE,” said Ambassador Francis.

The aim of SKNLOVE, he outlined, is to create and promote a greater familial bond between the people of Saint Kitts and Nevis and the people of Taiwan through the hosting of and participation in different activities.

“Since the opening of our Embassy’s doors in 2008, we have been engaging with the Taiwanese populace in and through various events and activities.  Under the ‘Sharing Kindness and Nurturing LOVE- SKNLOVE’ banner we will continue to engage with the people of Taiwan. We will continue sharing our rich culture, our history, our friendliness, kindness and love,” Ambassador Francis said.

The Embassy in collaboration with the Association of Saint Kitts and Nevis in Taiwan will be hosting several activities over the coming months in celebration of the 40-40 anniversary.

Ambassador Francis announced that the activities for the 40-40 anniversary will include the official reveal of a logo/symbol commemorating the Federation’s 40 years of diplomatic relations with Taiwan, more book donations to libraries and schools, an English summer camp for high school students, volunteering with different organizations that cater to vulnerable populations and a reception to celebrate Independence 40.
