We are Drilling for Water in Cayon!
Today I visited Cayon to get a first hand look at the progress of the new water well being drilled by BEAD. After many years of intermittent supply of water for the people of Cayon, prospects are looking very good to return to regular supply of water for Cayon and surrounding areas in the not too distant future. This well will also help the situation in St. Peters as water normally sent to Cayon can now be sent to St. Peter’s.
This Administration is working to address the years long issue of limited water supply that has led to the current rationing of water. We truly understand the frustration of not having 24 hour access to water and we are fulfilling our commitment to solve the problem.
In a few weeks we will be increasing the amount of water from Royal Utilities (St. Kitts Marriott) to the Frigate Bay/South East Peninsular Area and very shortly we intend to start our very own Desalination Plant for the Basseterre area to alleviate the problem for the communities in Basseterre.
We will get this done!
