SIR S. W. TAPLEY SEATON RECEIVES CONDOLENCES FROM AROUND THE WORLD

New York, July 28, 2023 (Permanent Mission of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations)—The Book of Condolences on the passing of His Excellency, Sir S.W. Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, KC, JP, LLD, former Governor General of St. Kitts and Nevis, that was opened at the Permanent Mission of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations, has been closed as of Friday, July 21, 2023.

The Memory Book, which was opened on Monday, July 17, 2023, received a steady flow of mourners throughout the week as diplomats from around the world as well as a wide array of nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis paid their respects to the distinguished former Head of State.

The Book of Condolences received entries from the Permanent Missions to the United Nations of several countries: Indonesia, The Sultanate of Oman, Chile, Georgia, Colombia, Belize, the Czech Republic, Suriname, Singapore, Canada, Guyana, Senegal, Argentina, Russia, Barbados, the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Pakistan, and Cuba. Condolences were also rendered by the Permanent Observer Mission of the International Youth Organization and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office and a representative of the Jewish Community.

Various nationals of St. Kitts and Nevis also took the time to pay their respects, sharing touching stories about their interactions with their beloved compatriot. A visiting delegation, led by the Hon. Konris Maynard, Minister of Public Infrastructure, Energy, Information Technology, et al, also took the opportunity to sign the book.

The Permanent Mission of St. Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations thanks all who participated in this solemn ritual. The Book of Condolences will be shipped to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of St. Kitts and Nevis and will be presented to the family of the deceased by the Minister of Foreign Affairs et al of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas.
