Further update: Aircraft is a Piper single engine plane which was headed from Antigua to St Martin. Plane developed engine trouble and attempted to land at Vance Amory Int Airport but dropped short in the sea on approach. Pilot from St. Martin and Student pilot from Anguilla were the only persons onboard. They swam ashore with only minor injury to the pilot. Attempts are being made to remove the plane from the water.
Update: The Pilot and a passenger on the plane swam ashore and are ok. Identity not confirmed as yet. Investigation continues
