Independence 40 Drill Competition held on the Byroad, Basseterre

Members of the armed and unarmed units put on a spectacular show of discipline and execution of drills and salutes on Friday (September 22) during the staging of the Independence 40 Drill Competition held on the Byroad, Basseterre.

However, it was the members of the St. Kitts-Nevis Cadet Corps that stole the show, taking home top positions in two of the three judged categories.

Winning the Individual Award was Private Huggins of the St. Kitts-Nevis Cadet Corps. Cadet Thompson placed second in that event, with WPC Henry finishing third.

In the group category, it was Private Huggins & Lance Corporal Carty of the Cadet Corps who came out on top. The duo was presented with the Drill Shield by the Hon. Konris Maynard. The first runner-up position was taken by Lance Corporal Thompson & Lance Corporal Clarke while WPC Challenger & WPC Henry took the second runner-up position.

WPC Henry was adjudged the winner of the Best Fit female category with Senior Officer Allen of the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) winning the male category.
