Congratulations to all of our farmers, fishers, Cooperative groups and other Agricultural stakeholders who were recognized for their outstanding contributions toward the development of the agricultural sector and their remarkable efforts to achieve food security during the Ministry’s Farmers and Fishers Awards ceremony on Thursday 19th October 2023.
Mr. Leon Anthony was named the 2023 Crop Farmer of the Year, while Mr. Marvin Harrigan was awarded the Livestock Farmer of the Year.
The 2023 FAO Fisher of the Year award was presented to Mr. Gregory O-Loughlin.
This year’s event, held as part of the 2023 World Food Day week of activities, was attended by Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Marine Resources and Cooperatives, Hon. Samal Duggins; Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Miguel Flemming, members of the Diplomatic Corps, farmers and fisherfolk and staff of the Departments of Agriculture and Marine Resources.
