MULTIPLE CHARGES LAID AGAINST REJON HANLEY FOR CANNABIS IMPORTATION
On October 18th, 2023, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) responded to a report of suspected contraband importation at the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport (RLBIA). Officers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Customs and Excise Department informed Police that Rejon Hanley of Douglas Estate, St. Kitts, had attempted to clear a package that arrived by air on October 16th, 2023.
A routine examination of the package by Customs officers revealed it to contain four (4) black bags of vegetable material suspected to be Cannabis and weighing a total of 2,146g. The suspected contraband was taken into Police custody and later confirmed as such.
Mr. Hanley was formally charged for the offences of Making a False Declaration;Importation of Restricted Goods to Wit Cannabis Sativa; Concealment of RestrictedGoods to Wit Cannabis Sativa; and Fraudulent Evasion of A Custom Officer. The chargeswere laid on October 20th, 2023, at the Basseterre Police Station.
