What you think is who you are; what you do is who you become.”

This powerful quote embodies the rich legacy and achievements of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, summarising our journey of where we started, where we’ve been, where we are now, and where we intend to go, as a people.

Originally founded as the ‘Workers League’ in 1932, the collective struggles, coupled with consistent and constant turmoil faced by families across St. Kitts and Nevis, birthed a heroic force that would stand on their behalf and fight for what is just and what is right.

This ‘force’, the ‘Workers’ League’, gave ordinary people a voice and a seat at the table to contribute to the social, economic, and political development of St. Kitts and Nevis.

What started out as a thought by some of our bravest men and women, shaped who we are as a free, proud, and resilient people today.

The tenacity of those who led this movement led our great-great-grandparents; those on whose backs this country was built, to political power, as a means to fully take the wheel from our oppressors. Their success, and the success of this movement, which was later renamed the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party, has drastically changed St. Kitts and Nevis over the last ninety-two years for the better, through the most progressive government structure, policies, and leadership in our country’s history, and the history of the Caribbean.

The work of those before us has carved the path for us to be the innovative, creative, educated, dynamic, and driven people that we are today.

Let the history of our party, our struggles, our downfalls, our triumphs, and our achievements, continue to encourage and remind us that as a people we have toppled our oppressors, fought for the unimaginable, created our own avenues to success, and have triumphed amongst giants.

“What you think is who you are; what you do is who you become.”
