FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
In light of the water outage advisory, issued by the Nevis Water Department, impacting the parishes of St. George and St. John, the Ministry of Education et al. gives notice of the physical closure of the following public schools on Monday, 25 March, 2024.
Pre-school
St. John’s Pre-school
Primary Schools
Ivor Walters Primary School
Cecele Browne Integrated School
Secondary School
Gingerland Secondary School
We have been further advised that the Gingerland Pre-school, Joycelyn Liburd Primary School and Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School can remain open as the water reservoir system should allow for regular activities. In the event that there is a change, the information will be sent to parents via each school’s communication mechanisms. Parents of students attending these schools should be guided accordingly.
All other public schools will remain open.
The general public is further advised that the offices of the Ministry and Department of Education will also be closed on Monday, 25 March, 2024.
Members of staff at the various institutions will be guided by their school leaders and department heads.
Any further communication will be circulated via releases from the Ministry of Education et al and or the various schools.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by these closures and look forward to welcoming everyone back to our various campuses and offices when the situation is rectified.
