CHS STAKEHOLDERS PARTICIPATE IN AIR QUALITY
INVESTIGATION DISCUSSION
Basseterre, St. Kitts, Thursday, March 28, 2024: A critical meeting surrounding the environment of the Cayon High School (CHS) was convened by the Ministry of Education on of Cayon High School on Wednesday, March 27. The meeting provided stakeholders with the findings from the recently concluded air quality inspection and testing and created a platform for discussions on the way forward for CHS.
Representatives from the St. Kitts Bureau of Standards (the department with responsibility for collecting air samples) shared their findings, provided insights into the extent of the issue, and presented potential remedial measures.
During the constructive dialogue, stakeholders voiced their concerns and queries and offered suggestions. Parents expressed their concerns regarding the health implications for their children and sought assurances regarding the steps being taken to address the situation.
By openly discussing the results, the Ministry of Education underscored its dedication to transparency and proactive management of challenges facing Cayon High School. MOE assured attendees of its unwavering commitment to swiftly remedy the problem, emphasizing the importance of thorough and effective solutions to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone within the school community.
