FISHERS INVITED TO REGISTER FOR BASIC FISHER TRAINING COURSE 2024

(MOA, Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 8th, 2024): 

The Department of Marine Resources invites all fishers in the federation to register for the Basic Fisher Training Course 2024. 

The BFTC is designed to develop the necessary competencies and skills in fishers, as well as equip them with a basic understanding of the adverse effects of unsustainable fishing practices and climate change in order to ensure the long-term. sustainability of the fishing industry. 

Training kicks off in Nevis on Monday July 8th 2024 and continues on Tuesday 9th July at Cotton Ground (near Hamilton Beach Villas) and on Wednesday July 10th,  2024 at Barnes Ghaut Community Center.

Training in St. Kitts is set for Thursday July 15th to Saturday July 17th, 2024. The venue for July 15th and 16th is Frigate Bay Beach and the Newtown Community Center on July 17th.

All sessions run from 8:30 am- 3:30 pm daily.

Registration is free for the first 25 Fishers.
