ZERON CAREY SENTENCED FOR ILLEGAL FIREARM POSSESSION


Basseterre, St. Kitts – July 18, 2024: Zeron Carey, 26, of Conaree Village, St. Kitts, appeared before High Court Judge His Lordship Justice Ian Morley KC, where he was sentenced for possessing an illegal firearm.


On January 9, 2023, the Police responded to a report of a shooting incident in Conaree and conducted thorough investigations. As a result, Carey and another individual were arrested and charged with
possession of an illegal firearm on January 12, 2023.


Carey pleaded guilty to the charge on July 18, 2024, and was sentenced to five (5) years imprisonment at His Majesty’s Prison.


The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force commends the efforts of all officers involved in bringing this case to a successful conclusion and reiterates its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety and security of our citizens.
