Provisional Acceptance of Students for the Academic Year 2024/2025 for Select CFBC Programmes

Following the recent statistics shared on 20 August 2024, by Dr. Nicole Manning, Director of Operations at the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), during 2024 May-June Release of Results Ceremony at the State House Conference Center in Dominica, it has become necessary to address some concerning trends in the pass rates for CSEC Mathematics and English Language. The statistics presented are as follows:

  1. Mathematics: The pass rate for CSEC Mathematics across the Caribbean has declined to 36%, down from 43% in 2023 and 37% in 2022.
  2. English Language: The pass rate for English A has also seen a decline, dropping by 3% to 76%.
Considering these statistics, and the number of Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) subjects with ungraded results, the College has decided that, for the Academic Year 2024/2025, CFBC will be accepting students provisionally for some of our programmes, specifically in the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies, the Division of Technical & Vocational Education & Management Studies and the Division of Health Sciences, Enrolled Nursing Assistant programme only.
The public is advised to contact the Office of the Registrar, Admissions, and Registration section for more information at 869-465-2856 ext. 1143/1108 or via email at [email protected].
