The SKNNCC Announces the St Kitts Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank Group of Companies as Platinum Partner and Title Sponsor of the Folklore Galore Competition

The St. Kitts & Nevis National Carnival Committee (SKNNCC) is thrilled to announce that the
SKNA National Bank has become a platinum partner and the official title sponsor of the highly
anticipated Folklore Galore competition. In recognition of this exciting partnership, the
competition will officially be renamed the “National Bank Folklore Galore Competition.”

Scheduled to take place on December 18, 2024, the National Bank Folklore Galore Competition
will be hosted in the vibrant setting of The Circus, downtown Basseterre. This event promises to
be a celebration of Kittitian and Nevisian culture, featuring traditional mixed folklore that
highlights the rich heritage of our Federation.


Understanding the importance of preserving and promoting traditional folklore, National Bank
made a generous contribution to support this initiative. During a recent presentation, Senior
representatives of the bank, presented a cheque of $50,000 to Pierre Liburd, Director of Culture
and Mr. Clement Monarch Ogarro, Director of the SKNNCC. This significant investment
underscores the bank’s commitment to ensuring the longevity and maintenance of our cultural
traditions for generations to come.


“We believe that supporting traditional folklore is critical to the sustainability of our cultural
identity,” said Mr Anthony Galloway, CEO of National Bank. “We are proud to partner with
SKNNCC and contribute to an event that not only entertains but also educates and fosters a
deep appreciation of our heritage.”


Mr Pierre Liburd, Director of the Department of Culture has indicated that this year the
Department has seen a significant rise in the overall number of Folklore Troupes (Juniors &

Seniors) participating in Street Activities for Sugar Mas 53.  This confirms the Department’s
dedication to the promotion of our culture and our rich cultural history.


The SKNNCC looks forward to an exciting competition showcasing the talents of our local
folklore groups and reinforcing the importance of our culture. We invite everyone to join us in
celebrating our rich folklore and the pride of our community at the National Bank Folklore Galore
Competition on Wednesday 18th December at 4:30PM in the Circus.
