The St. Kitts-Nevis National Carnival Committee (SKNNCC) is thrilled to announce a remarkable increase in air passenger arrivals to the Federation during the just concluded Sugar Mas 53 period. In a year-to-year comparison, during the 2024 festivities, over 16,000 air travelers arrived at the RLB International Airport, a significant increase of more than 4,000 passengers from the previous year’s Sugar Mas 52, which welcomed over 11,900 arrivals during the same time.

The surge in participation underscores the growing popularity of Sugar Mas among carnival enthusiasts both regionally and internationally, as well as among returning nationals. The vibrant celebrations and cultural showcase have established St Kitts & Nevis as a premier carnival destination, drawing visitors eager to experience the unique festivities.

The increase in passenger arrivals contributes positively to our local economy, as almost 100% of the budget attributed to the Sugar Mas budget is reinvested back into the local economy. The economic impact of this influx is widespread, benefiting local businesses, creatives and service providers. From accommodations to food and entertainment, the boost in tourism during the carnival season fosters a dynamic economic environment that supports job creation and enhances the overall quality of life for our citizens.

The SKNNCC extends its heartfelt gratitude to all visitors and participants who made Sugar Mas 53 a resounding success. We are committed to further enhancing the carnival experience and continuing to attract more visitors to our beautiful Federation for Sugar Mas 54 which takes place from December 12th, 2025 to January 2nd, 2026.
