ZARIAH LYNCH COPS 2024 MICHAEL N. LEADER AWARD FOR BEST PERFORMANCE IN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN TECHNOLOGY
Basseterre, St. Kitts, 13th March 2025 (CFBC): Zariah Lynch, a 21-year-old graduate from Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC), has been honoured with the 2024 Michael N. Leader Award for excelling as the top student in the Associate’s Degree Architectural Design Technology programme within the Division of Technical and Vocational Education and Management Studies (TVEMS).
Ms. Lynch was recognised at an award ceremony held on Thursday, 6th March 2025, at CFBC, where the Dean of the Division of TVEMS, Mr. Terry Hanley, delivered commendations.

“Her diligence has paid off and she’s now here receiving this award because of her hard work,” Mr. Hanley said. “Miss Lynch, congratulations and thank you for staying the course and I hope for your continued success.”
Ms. Lynch said that she “felt both surprised and honoured” to be recognised for her outstanding accomplishments at CFBC, while describing herself as “a driven and intellectually curious individual.”
Her solid academic background, highlighted by her honour roll achievements and ten CXC subjects, equipped her for the demanding coursework of her programme. She demonstrated incredible commitment, tackling design challenges with both resilience and creativity, supported by valuable mentorship.

“Throughout my academic journey, I honed vital skills such as time management, problem solving, and critical thinking, while also gaining specialised knowledge,” Ms. Lynch said. “Having successfully earned my Associate’s Degree in Architecture Design Technology, I am unwavering in my pursuit of my career aspirations.”
The late Mr. Michael N. Leader taught for many years at CFBC in the Architectural programme at the Division of TVEMS. Some of the courses he taught include Construction Technology, Architectural History and Site Surveying.
Mr. Wycliffe Morton, a Senior Lecturer in Architectural Design Technology at CFBC and the chair of the award ceremony, praised Mr. Leader for his passion and dedication to his work, noting that he always encouraged his students to achieve their best.
“It is out of his love for his students that he started this award…this award testifies to the character of the man and his desire and vision for young people,” Mr. Morton said.
