NBGC Premier League table on goal difference following a commanding 3-0 victory over Jones
Group Sandy Point FC on Saturday, March 15, at Warner Park. The win places Cayon level on
nine points with SOL IAS Conaree FC but with a superior goal difference of +8 compared to
Conaree’s +7.

Match Summary: Azul Cayon Rockets 3 – 0 Jones Group Sandy Point
(Halftime Score: 2-0 in favor of Cayon)
Scorers for Cayon Rockets:

  • Ahmalie Dyer (own goal by Sandy Point) – 3rd minute
  • Mervin Lewis (penalty kick) – 27th minute

Notably, the Azul Cayon Rockets have yet to concede a goal in four matches, highlighting their
defensive prowess. Assistant Coach Valentine Anthony expressed his satisfaction with the
team’s performance, emphasizing their disciplined approach and consistency on the field. “For
us to keep going like this, I think it all depends on the training, coming from the training ground,
how we train and how we deal with our players, when to rest players and when to play players;
those sort of stuff,” he said.
Assistant Coach of Sandy Point, Lydia Liburd, acknowledged the setback but remained
optimistic, stating that the team will regroup and move forward. “The game plan that we utilised
was not really implemented and so that would cost us the first two goals. We came back out in
the second half and we tried something different and we were able to do better. So I think we just
have to work on that,” she said.
