POLICE INVESTIGATING ARMED ROBBERY AT CHINESE SUPERMARKET IN BASSETERRE
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the XINHUA Chinese Supermarket on Cardin Avenue, Basseterre, on the evening of October 14th, 2025.
Preliminary investigations indicate that between 7:30 PM and 8 PM, a lone masked assailant entered the establishment and demanded money from the cashier at gunpoint. A quantity of cash was taken before the assailant discharged a single round outside the establishment and fled the scene. No injuries were reported.
The Crime Scene Unit processed the scene and collected some items of evidential value. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and updates will be appropriately published as it progresses.
The RSCNPF is urging anyone with information that could assist in identifying or locating the suspect to contact the Basseterre Police Station at 465-2241 or the CrimeStoppers hotline at 707 (anonymous).
