AISHA MAINA WELCOMES KITTITIANS AND NEVISIANS “HOME” TO AFRICA WITH NEW CULTURAL CENTER LAUNCH
ABUJA, Nigeria – The new cultural center which opened in Abuja Nigeria on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, will foster closer ties between Africa and the Caribbean. The Afri-Caribbean Cultural Event Center at The Art Pavilion is the result of a diplomatic visit from St. Kitts and Nevis, following recent bilateral agreements like visa-free travel.
The facility has been established as a permanent space for artistic exchange and historical education for the diaspora.
In her remarks at the launch, Ms. Aisha Maina, CEO of Aquarian Consult Limited, welcomed the visiting delegation. “To my family from St. Kitts and Nevis, welcome home,” Maina stated. “You are the first delegation since the visa waiver, and I don’t think there’s any more way to say that you are home than to completely obliterate the lines that divide us.”
She emphasized the center’s purpose beyond symbolism. “This center is not just symbolic. It is a place where we will continue to exchange knowledge and where you can find your roots—be they Nigerian, Ghanaian, Togolese, or from anywhere else in Africa,” Maina said. “For every exchange we do, we will share the knowledge of our kingdoms, many of which are thousands of years old. This is home, and all I say again is welcome home.”
The center aims to be a dedicated hub for ongoing cultural and educational exchange, strengthening the connection between African nations and the Caribbean diaspora.
