Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis and Chairman of CARICOM, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, held a high-level bilateral meeting with United States Secretary of State, Hon. Marco Rubio, and senior U.S. officials, today, February 25, 2026, where discussions focused on deepening cooperation between Saint Kitts and Nevis and the United States.
The engagement centered on expanding educational opportunities, strengthening energy security, enhancing infrastructure and technical training, and increasing collaboration in addressing transnational crime. The meeting also emphasized the Federation’s pursuit of economic transformation and the importance of building long-term capacity through partnerships with U.S. institutions, including expanded access to universities, and specialized training in areas such as structural engineering and data security.
Accompanying Prime Minister Drew were Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas; Dr. Marcus Natta; Cabinet Secretary, Ms. Naeemah Hazelle; Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Ms. Jacinth Henry-Martin; Ambassador to the United States, Her Excellency Hadiya Claxton; Special Envoy, and Press Secretary, Mr. Javon Liburd.
The bilateral forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships that support national development priorities and advance regional cooperation.
