Minister Samal Duggins Signs Memorandum of Intent to Advance Film and Creative Collaboration at Aquarian Consult Afri-Caribbean Investment Summit
Abuja, Nigeria, March 23, 2026 – Minister of Small Business, Entrepreneurship, Cooperatives and the Creative Economy et al, the Honourable Samal Duggins, has signed a Memorandum of Intent (MOl) on behalf of the Government of Saint Christopher (Saint Kitts) and Nevis, marking a significant step forward in the Federation’s efforts to expand opportunities within the film and creative industries.
The signing took place during the Aquarian Consult Afri-Caribbean Investment Summit (AACIS 2026) in Abuja, Nigeria, and establishes a collaborative framework between the Government and key partners, including Natives Filmworks Limited, Michel-Angelo Productions, and Aquarian Consult Limited.
The Memorandum of Intent outlines a shared vision to utilize filmmaking as a powerful medium for storytelling, with a focus on narrating the stories of Global Africa and strengthening cultural connections between Africa and the Caribbean.
The partnership aims to:
- Support the development and production of authentic film content
- Promote cultural identity and shared heritage across the African diaspora
- Empower creatives to take ownership of their narratives
- Foster resilience, pride, and global recognition through storytelling
This initiative is expected to create meaningful opportunities for visual artists, filmmakers, and content creators in St. Kitts and Nevis, providing access to new markets, partnerships, and platforms for growth.
Minister Duggins emphasized the importance of moving beyond traditional expressions of culture to creating sustainable industries driven by innovation and collaboration.
