SAINT KITTS SECURES FOUR PRESTIGIOUS 2026 WORLD TRAVEL AWARDS NOMINATIONS
Basseterre, Saint Kitts, May 29, 2026 (SKNIS):Saint Kitts is once again being recognised as a premier tourist destination by travel professionals, media and consumers. The island has secured four prestigious nominations for the 2026 World Travel Awards, including a nomination for Caribbean Adventure Destination.
The other three nominations are for Caribbean Cultural Destination, Caribbean Dive Destination, and Caribbean Tourist Board. Persons are strongly encouraged to cast a vote for Saint Kitts in any of the four categories by visiting www.worldtravelawards.com/nominees/2026/caribbean
“Tourism continues to stand as one of the strongest pillars of our economy and remains a vital driver of growth, community engagement, job creation, and national transformation,” said Minister of Tourism and International Transport, the Honourable Marsha Henderson. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort, the minister added that the government defines the success of tourism not just by visitor arrivals but by the “meaningful and lasting impact the industry has on the lives and livelihoods of our people.”
In the past, Saint Kitts and Nevis has consistently won in various regional categories at the prestigious World Travel Awards. These include Caribbean Leading Dive Destination in 2022, Caribbean’s Leading Tourist Board in 2012, and 2013, and the World’s Leading Island Destination in 2008.
