30 Days to the Epic St Kitts Music Festival
Anticipation for the 2025 St Kitts Music Festival (SKMF)has hit a fever pitch with only thirty (30) days left before the event kicks off. June 26-28 are the dates set for thisyear’s staging of the most epic Music Festival in the Caribbean.
Local, regional and international fans are gearing up for three nights of music featuring a diverse range of genres, with soca’s best artists, including AkaiiUsweet, Yung Bredda, Patrice Roberts, Trilla-G and Kes the Band. Shenseea, Barrington Levi, Romain Virgo and Spice, along with others, fill the reggae and dancehall categories.
For the first time in SKMF’s history, String Band will be represented by the Honey Bees String Band out of sister isle Nevis. The St Kitts Steel Orchestra will join the action for the Friday night party. Oscar and Grammy-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson will hit the stage for her first appearance at the festival. The highly anticipated performance of Vybz Kartel signals the diversity in musical entertainment.
Minister of Tourism Honourable Marsha Hendersoncommented that “The St Kitts Music Festival is known as one of the Caribbean’s most celebrated cultural showcases”. She further stated, “This festival is more than a music event; it’s an experience that connects visitors with the very heart of St. Kitts. Through music, food, and traditions, we showcase our rich culture and warm hospitality while driving economic growth and fostering global connections.”
The birth of the festival in 1996 was driven mainly by economic factors, characterized by very low occupancy levels in local hotels and a reduction in overall business activity on the island. The main objectives, therefore, were designed to increase visitor arrivals; improve hotel occupancies; stimulate greater economic activity across all commercial sectors; create greater international awareness for the destination as a viable option for visitors, while also producing a world-class entertainment event attractive and appealing to Kittitians/Nevisians and tourists.
With only 30 days to go before the twenty-seventh (27th) edition of the St Kitts Music Festival, patrons are asked to log on to the festival’s website: stkittsmusicfestival.com to purchase tickets and view further updates and additional details.
